Do you have a Headache? Levitra may be the Cause

Levitra (vardenafil) is effective in treating erectile dysfunction in the majority of male users and is safe for many to take – even those who have other medical concerns. However, if you are considering this medication for your own use, you should talk to your doctor about the possible side effects that can occur with Levitra, including headaches.
Does Levitra cause Headaches?

To understand the answer to this question, it is important to know exactly how this medication works in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Most impotence drugs do not “cure” the problem behind erectile dysfunction; instead they work to maximize the conditions for an erection to occur. This is done by relaxing the muscles around the penis, allowing for optimum blood flow to occur. This process will allow men to have an erection naturally, by working with the physiological process that is already in place. Because this medication affects the blood flow to the penile area, it can also affect the blood flow in other areas of the body. Since changes in blood flow to the brain are often the cause of headaches, Levitra can contribute to the problem with some patients.

Depending on the clinical studies and results that you read, Levitra can cause headaches in anywhere from two to ten percent of the individuals who take it.

This statistic is only applicable to men, since Levitra is not usually prescribed for women or those under the age of eighteen.

It may be that for men who suffer from migraines or cluster headaches, Levitra may act as a trigger to bring on the symptoms of their condition. That is because these types of headaches seem particularly susceptible to the changes in blood flow to the brain. If you suffer from either of these conditions, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor about the link between Levitra and headaches. For others, the headaches from Levitra may only occur after the first few doses of the medication. For many, the side effect is not severe enough to keep them from taking the drug.
