Upper Back Pain - is exercise the cause?
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedOne of the most common causes of upper back pain is exercise - exercising before warming up properly, or lifting something heavy without preparing properly.
If your back pain was caused by exercise and just threw yourself into a workout regimen, your muscles are in shock and rebelling against this all-too-sudden change.
When you start exercising, it’s vital to start slowly. Many men think that as long as they can lift it, they should be fine, but really it can only result in injuries. You need to start with the lowest weight on the machine, do a couple of repetitions, and when you begin to feel the burn, stop. Do not keep pushing, because that burning sensation means the muscles are becoming strained.
Stay on that lowest weight for a day or two, and do not just focus on lifting weights as an exercise regimen. Lift weights for a little while and then do another form of exercise to have a variety. If you are very much overweight and older, you should be on the safe side and hire a personal trainer for a session or two to help you design a good workout plan.
